Grew up youngest of four children always listening to the radio,actaully the song "Big Sisters Radio" could be my theme song. As late many a nite I turned the dial from Nashville to Ft Wayne and so on.
Always wanted to be on radio, however a 20 year banking career , got in the way, when I began calling on the owner of 3 radio stations here in upstate South Carolina for banking business, in 1994 thats when Jerry Peeler's Myrtle Beach Days was born. This lasted some 5 years on Saturday mornings, and was the morning man Monday thuru Friday when WANS went to another format in 2005. Had the opportunity to go to a larger FM in another area but did not want to move.
Last year was my biggest year in mobile DJ, going From Asheville, to Atlanta and to Augusta, with stops in between all over , from wedding to corporate events we have been playing them for 20 years now and look forward to many more.
I like to consider myself a down the middle of the road DJ, Leighton Grantham a dear friend passed told me one time "if its good enough it will stick" as in the music. By this I dont play every obscure song their is or try to find them for that matter, good party ,beach music , southern soul is what I like and play. And there doesn't have to be a dance contest at every event. Guys having fun on a golf course dont like being told how to make every shot for instance,,
Im also proud to have a good relationship with all southern soul , carolina beach music artist and promote every chance I am able to, and consider all my personal friends.
