Butch Halpin has been "spinning tunes" since 1976 in clubs and for private parties. He has served as MC or Co-MC for numerous ocassions, including the 1994 "Original Georgia Prophets Reunion", 2007 & 2008 Charleston Beach Music & Shag Festival, fundraisers, grand openings, CD Release Parties and numerous CBMA events. Butch was the host of The Carolina Sounds Beach Show on radio for over six years on WLWL, WLLN & WBZB and currently hosts the show on Southern Soul dot com. In 2002 he was nominated for "AM Radio DJ of the Year" for the CBMA's. In August of 2008, Butch returned to the air waves on WODR-FM COOL 105.3, from Whiteville, NC. He has been nominated ten times for "Club/Mobile DJ of the Year" at the Carolina Beach Music Awards (formerly the Cammy Awards) and won in 2001. Butch has played music and sung all over North Carolina, South Carolina and southern Virginia for various types of events, including weddings, birthdays, class reunions, pool parties, anniversaries, concerts, holiday parties, and even a divorce party.
